Nature Connectedness Symposium

15-Oct-2024 | Impulse, Speakers corner

About the event

This October, the Health and Environment Cluster from the Centre for Space, Place and Society at Wageningen University & Research invites you to an engaging symposium on Nature Connectedness. Join us to learn how to foster health through our connection with the natural world!

We have a morning program dedicated to PhD Candidates working on topics linking environment and health.

At lunchtime, there will be some opportunites to increase our connection to nature in Wageningen with an outdoor activity (tbd).

In the afternoon, Prof. David Sheffield from the Nature Connectedness Research Group at University of Derby will deliver an inspiring talk on “Noticing and Appreciating Nature: Nature Connectedness for Wellbeing”

The talk will provide an overview of the concept of Nature Connectedness – people’s sense of relationship with the rest of the natural world. It will outline research on the growth and wellbeing benefits of closer relationships with nature, and discuss the design and outcomes of interventions for improving nature connectedness.

The talk will be followed by some hands-on activities to test your knowledge and increase your nature connectedness with The Big Nature Connectedness quiz.

Finally, we will have drinks and nibbles to get to know each other better.

Don’t miss this opportunity to expand your understanding of nature connectedness and network with like-minded individuals and join us at the symposium. We look forward to seeing you there!
