Process- and data-driven modelling in crop science

11 May - 3 July 2026 | Online or in person (Wageningen University & Research)

About this course

This course is a hands-on course for modelling in a wide agricultural context, including open-field crop production and greenhouse horticulture. Besides the basic data-handling skills, this course especially focuses on the creativity-based aspects of modelling. Here, inspiration from modellers from industry and academia is provided to stimulate the develop of models. Participants work with real-life problems, starting from raw datasets (data-driven modelling), research questions (knowledge-based modelling), or a combination of both. Through individual work, group assignments, and guided sessions, in-person participants experience the full modelling workflow and progressively develop more complex analyses
