Launch event: Citizen Science @ WUR

Are you a citizen science enthusiast, or curious about it? Do you want to meet other like-minded people in and around WUR? Join us on Thursday October 20th, 15.00 - 17.00h, at the atrium of Plus Ultra 2 (Bronland 10) and join the launch of a new citizen science community in Wageningen.

In this event, two WUR citizen science initiatives will be launched: the Transformative Citizen Science for Sustainability online course and the WUR Citizen Science Hub. This will also be your chance to get an introduction to Wageningen library’s citizen science initiative, the Stadslab.

The online course has been developed by WUR researchers and will explore the concept of transformative citizen science as a method to empower citizens toward changing unsustainable systems. The WUR Citizen Science Hub aims to connect and strengthen the citizen science community in and around WUR. In this event, we want to get your input on the design of the Citizen Science Hub: how can it contribute to a strong community of practice? What services should it offer?

Come discover more about these initiatives and become a part of the community! This is an excellent opportunity to meet your peers, get inspired, and to co-create the future of citizen science at WUR.

Your RSVP is very important to estimate how much food/drinks to provide! Please do deregister if you can't make it. Should you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us at leneke.pfeiffer@wur.nl.

This initiative is part of the Open Science & Education program, looking to promote and strengthen more open, accessible, and responsible research at WUR. Citizen science is one of the pillars of this program and will be further developed in the near future.
