Workshops
During the afternoon (12.30-15.30 hrs) five parallel workshops will take place on different themes with the aim to discuss your views on how we can better implement the WUR vision on Food and Nutrition in multidisciplinary research, education and on having impact. Please find below a short description of each theme.
Protein Transition (location: Phenomea, Plaza)
Plant, insect or microbial? There are numerous alternatives to dairy and meat protein, but how to make sense of them all? What is needed to make a successful and sustainable transition? And how can we bring the protein transition to campus life?

The recent pandemic stressed the importance of a healthy lifestyle and healthy food in prevention and during recovery of disease. What are the most urgent research areas to optimize the quality of the diets of various populations, from primary prevention to optimizing outcomes in people with chronic disease? How can we create more impact regarding nutrition on WUR campus, in our society and worldwide? How can we even further incorporate our research in curricula and courses at WUR?
Digitalization & Smart Technologies (location: PlusUltra II, trainingsroom ground floor)
Digitalization and efficient use of technology are important keys to connect the rest of the world. What do we need to move towards digitalization & smart technologies as an organisation? How can digitalization take research forward? Which smart technologies can we benefit from? How can digitalization contribute to achieving our goals as WUR?
Safely Feed the World (location: Axis, Grote Zaal
The world population is increasing and in many parts of the world, people consume insufficient and low-quality diets and the production of our food has multiple negative effects. How can Wageningen make an impact in feeding the world in a healthy and sustainable way?
Sustainability in Food Chains (location: Impulse, NCountr)
Towards sustainable food chains, that is what we would like to achieve. What is needed for this, e.g., related to new technologies, changes in organisation of the food system and how could Wageningen contribute to this? In research, projects and work on the campus?
