About the event

Focus: We are preparing an exciting program covering the latest scientific developments in invertebrate pathology, including microbial control of insect pests, diseases in beneficial invertebrates, the medical and biotechnological significance of insect pathogens, and fundamental scientific research in host-pathogen interactions. The event is aimed at exchanging knowledge and being updated on recent findings. The event will target both starting and more experienced scientists in the field of invertebrate pathology and entomology, and offers ample possibilities, also for PhD students and post-docs, to present research data.

Venue: The Congress Centre 1931 is located in the old city of 's Hertogenbosch (in short Den Bosch). This Congres Centre is the city's former cattle market that was opened in 1931 and closed in 2001. Although completely renovated and refurbished, the building retains its charms through many historical details. The venue is located at about a 15-minute walk from the Central Station and the City Centre and can also be reached by bike or local bus. The city of Den Bosch can be reached easily by public transport from Schiphol Airport.

The town: Den Bosch is the capital of the province of Noord-Brabant, renowned for its hospitality. The originally medieval town funded in the 12th century is rich in historic landmarks, including the iconic Saint-John's Cathedral, monumental houses such as the Mondriaan, and the ancient, partly underground, channel system (De Binnendieze). Den Bosch is also the hometown of the famous 15th century painter Hieronymus Bosch. Visitors will be captivated by the cosy athmosphere, the many historical sites, and lively market places. Industrial heritage buildings, the Provincial Museum, external art objects, and culinary specialties are all to be found in Den Bosch.

In the area: The surrounding area offers agricultural landscapes, forests and sites of medieval castles to explore, such as the castles Ammersoyen and Loevestein. The Efteling (fairytale park) and Safari park the Beekse Bergen are also within reasonable distance for those interested.
