Venue and Travel Information

The Venue

The 2026 SIP-IOBC meeting will be held in 's Hertogenbosch (also called Den Bosch), in the Congress Centre 1931. The building is a Dutch National Monument and the city's former livestock market, which was opened in 1931. Although completely renovated and refurbished, the building remains its charm through many historical details. For more information on the building's history see this link.

In the venue we will have a large plenary meeting hall and several smaller sized rooms for divisional sessions, SIP/IOBC board meetings and other activities. All these rooms lay central to a large open area (the foyer) where we will hold the mixer, have coffee breaks and where lunches will be served. Posters will also be easily approachable from there.

Travel Information

By train:

's Hertogenbosch Central Station connects the city with various national and international destinations. Direct trains run to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam, Rotterdam (with high speed connections to France), Utrecht (with highspeed connections to Germany) and Eindhoven. Some trains run directly from 's Hertogenbosch to Germany. The conference location can be reached from the central station within 15 minutes of walking. To do so, take the West exit from the station and follow the sign "Brabanthallen". The route to 1931 can be found easily by walking parallel to the railway tracks, keeping the tracks at your right hand. You first pass over a bicycle viaduct and further on a larger road is reached that crosses the tracks via a tunnel. This is the road where you will find the Conference Centre 1931, just to the left on the opposite side of the road. You do not need to go through the tunnel under the railway. Via that tunnel the city center can be reached directly from the venue.
