Haiku Workshop
Oh, oude vijver,
een kikker springt van de kant,
geluid van water.
(Matsuo Basho, 1644 – 1694)
In this workshop, you will write the famous Japanese mini poems (haiku) of 17 syllables yourself. They are often about animals or nature. And you will learn much more! Better writing and communication (distinguishing main and side issues), capturing small moments of wonder and how haiku contributes to mindfulness. Because such a small text can be very BIG. The profundity of sample haiku has been studied for three centuries! You'll discover the true meaning too. Watch out! After this workshop, many people continue to write haiku regularly.
There are two one-hour workshops available. Max 20 persons per workshop
This workshop is given IN DUTCH by: modern poet Eric Hoogeweg of Tekstwerkplaats
Time: 13:45 and 15:45
Location: Zodiac, E1244

Lecture Animals in art
On safari along animals in stone and bronze.
A bird, fish, insect or mammal? ASG has been involved in animal research for decades. Nationally and internationally, we are leaders in this. But did you know that we have also been surrounded by animals in stone and bronze for hundreds of years? And that artists' artworks tell us something about the role of animals in people's lives? Henny van Rij of the 'Dierenmuseum.nl' takes us 'on safari' past animals in agriculture, animals in water and pets made of stone and bronze. Be surprised by the stories (and symbolism) behind the works of art!
There are two one-hour workshops available. Max 55 persons per workshop
This lecture has been specially developed for ASG
This workshop is given by: Henny van Rij of Dierenmuseum.nl
Time:13:45 and 16:45
Location: Aurora, room B9211
