Breakout sessions

 

Five breakout sessions will take place as part of the programme:
 
 
We invite you to an interactive session organized by Dynamics of Youth of Utrecht University where we’ll tap into the brainpower and expertise of all participants to address critical issues impacting the mental health of children and youth.
 
Interactive World Café Session
 
Themed tables will focus on different dynamic domains of youth: Early Childhood, Thriving and Healthy Youth, Youth Education and Life Skills, and Becoming Adults in a Changing World. Through rotating discussions, we’ll delve into the key challenges faced by youth like climate change, social media, lifestyle, housing stress, performance pressure, and overprotective parenting. Collaboratively we will brainstorm on solutions and prevention. Our session goal is to create communities across the EWUU Alliance together with societal partners, working towards youth resilience and just transitions for a better future.

Join us for an interactive session focused on just transitions in urban development.
 
Deep dive into Healthy Living Environment projects
 
This session starts of with talks from experts in the field of just and healthy living environment. Learn how citizen perspectives shape their approach and explore community-led initiatives in healthy living and food initiatives. We’ll also discuss shared housing models, urban commons, and housing strategies that support living with multiple generations. You will also discover insights from the Living Lab Cartesius, where transdisciplinary research fuels healthier environments. Find the full summary of all talks here.
 
Interactive Game
 
In the second part of this session you will engage in a dynamic boardgame designed by the Centre for Living labs, to co-design just and healthy living spaces that meet real-world needs. In the game you will experience first hand how various forces influence the building proces.

Join this interactive session to explore how we can make the shift from disease treatment to prevention, focusing on inclusivity.
 
Deepdive into inclusive and ethical approaches
 
We'll start of by discussing how to ensure that all population groups, including low SES participants, are included in health research and population-based screenings. You’ll hear real stories about inclusive oncology care and long-term follow-up strategies, and we’ll explore how healthcare providers approach discussing lifestyle changes with patients. Interactive World Café session
 
In the second part of this session, themed tables will focus on different topics surrounding fairer, more inclusive healthcare. Together with our speakers, we’ll delve into the key challenges faced in health(care) settings. Collaboratively we will brainstorm on solutions and prevention. The goal is to create transdisciplinary communities across the EWUU alliance, to create new connections, and to forge new projectideas together.

Join us for a dynamic session focused on maximizing health impact for older adults, especially those living at home.
 
Deep dive into future-proofing care for older aldults
 
In the first part of this session you will learn how a strong regional infrastructure of healthcare providers is helping to shape future-proof care in collaboration with academic workspaces. You’ll also explore the effects of dietary protein and vegan diets on bone health in both healthy older adults and hip fracture patients. Find the full summary of talks here.
 
Low Literate Game
 
In the second part of this session you will engage with an interactive low-literate game designed by Eindhoven Engine: AAHHhh, I don't get it! 
 
In the Netherlands, 2.5 million people face challenges with literacy, numeracy, and digital skills, which severely limit their societal participation. This issue can have serious consequences, such as missing important healthcare actions, for example flu shots, due to fear or misunderstanding. The gap between society and those lacking basic skills is widening, and researchers need to recognize this urgent problem and take action to bridge it. Explore how you can contribute to building a more inclusive society by understanding the complexity and discovering your role in addressing the issue.
