When you work together, you encounter the ultimate paradox: be yourself and adapt. If you find a good balance in this, you will experience a lot of job satisfaction, you make optimal use of your qualities and collaborations usually run smoothly. You know yourself and your own limits. But we know that sometimes it's hard to be yourself; for example in a meeting when everyone has a different opinion. Sometimes it happens that your boundaries are crossed. The most important thing is that you can then talk about it with the relevant colleague or your manager. Everyone's boundaries are different and discussing this is very important. Of course there are clear limits when it comes to undesirable behavior that the legislator says is unacceptable. WUR has confidential advisers who can help you by providing advice and information, but above all by involving them in the issues you encounter. You can get to know the confidential advisers during the diversity week. We look forward to meeting you!
Als je samenwerkt dan kom je de ultieme paradox tegen: wees jezelf en pas je aan.
Als je hierin een goede balans vindt, dan ervaar je veel werkplezier, maak je optimaal gebruik van je kwaliteiten en lopen samenwerkingen meestal soepel. Je kent jezelf en je eigen grenzen.
Maar we weten dat het soms best lastig is om jezelf te zijn; bijvoorbeeld in een vergadering als iedereen een andere mening heeft. Soms komt het voor dat er over jouw grenzen wordt gegaan. Het belangrijkste is dat je er dan over kan praten met de betreffende collega of je leidinggevende.
Ieders grens is anders en dit bespreekbaar maken is heel belangrijk. Uiteraard zijn er duidelijke grenzen als het gaat om ongewenst gedrag waarover de wetgever zegt dat het onacceptabel is.
WUR heeft vertrouwenspersonen die je kunnen helpen door advies en voorlichting te geven maar vooral door ze te betrekken bij de zaken waar je tegenaan loopt. Je kunt de vertrouwenspersonen leren kennen tijdens de diversiteitsweek. We ontmoeten je graag!

Workshop Stratego: The unwritten rules

This workshop is about the unwritten rules at the workplace and how to play the game of ‘building a successful career’ strategically and without losing your own identity.  
We all carry masculine/feminine approaches in ourselves, but they can be interchangeable and not necessarily assigned to one gender only. You will learn the differences between feminine and masculine preferred working styles, how to use different styles and combine them in their personal leadership path.  
This is an interactive workshop filled with research video’s, questions for the audience and exercises as we believe in ‘learning by doing’.
